Payment & Security Policy

1. Payment provider

TheBetterLot intends to use HDFC Bank SmartGateway for online payment processing, subject to final merchant activation and integration. The exact payment methods available will be shown at checkout and may depend on the merchant configuration and payment-provider availability.

2. Payment credentials

Customers should enter sensitive payment credentials only into the secure payment interface presented during checkout. TheBetterLot does not intend to collect or store full card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs, OTPs or internet-banking passwords on its own public website or server.

3. Supported methods

Once the gateway is live, available methods may include payment options supported and enabled by HDFC Bank SmartGateway, such as eligible cards, UPI, net banking or other methods. The actual options shown at checkout are authoritative.

4. Failed, pending or duplicate transactions

If payment is shown as failed or pending but your bank account has been debited, do not repeatedly pay without checking the order/payment status. Contact us with the order reference and transaction details (but never share your PIN, CVV, OTP or banking password). Bank/payment-provider reconciliation may be needed before the status is confirmed.

5. Refunds and chargebacks

Approved refunds are handled in accordance with our Cancellation, Return & Refund Policy. Payment disputes or chargeback rights, where available, may also be subject to the rules of the issuing bank, payment network and payment provider.

6. Security

We intend to use HTTPS/TLS for the live website and server-side handling of merchant credentials. Merchant API keys, secrets or authentication credentials must not be exposed in public browser JavaScript. Customers should never share OTPs, UPI PINs, CVV or banking passwords with TheBetterLot staff.
